How does Chorus Arts manage data protection?

Chorus Arts (Chorus Arts/we/us/our) is committed to protecting your privacy.   Transparency is very important to us.  Our data and privacy policy clearly outlines what data we gather, how we use it, and the rights that you have when managing/accessing your data.  Our policy is written in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 (which is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR) and is reviewed periodically.  In accordance with ‘data protection principles’. Anyone handling data must make sure the information is: Used fairly, lawfully and transparently Used for specified, explicit purposes Used in a way that is adequate, relevant and limited to only what is necessary Accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date Kept for no longer than is necessary Handled in a way that ensures appropriate security, including protection against unlawful or unauthorised processing, access, loss, destruction or damage  

Collection of your personal information
Chorus Arts collects data including email address, name, address, telephone number and images of Artist’s work in the form of ‘Artist Submissions’.   We hold this limited data under the GDPR lawful basis of "legitimate interest".  We are committed to ensuring that this is transparent, fair, necessary and limited.  In order to fulfil these important requirements, we carry out ongoing legitimate interest assessment.    Our uses of personal data include: Invitations to events Updating our network on opportunities such as artist submissions, exhibition opportunities and showcases Informing individuals about a project in which they might be interested Updates on Chorus Arts services Launches of Chorus Arts exhibitions and/or initiatives Practical updates such as location or contact methods    

The type of personal information we collect
We currently collect and process the following information: Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics including: Name Email address Contact number Organisation (where applicable) We will also record attendance at events in order to ensure we follow up with relevant information.  

How we get the personal information and why we have it
The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons: You have completed an Artist Submission  You wish to be part of the Chorus Arts Community You have indicated that you wish to join the Chorus Arts Network You have accepted an invitation to join Friends of Chorus Arts You have otherwise opted to receive Chorus Arts notifications  

Chorus Arts is a subsidiary of Chorus Ltd and data is managed centrally.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information is:  Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting
hello@chorusarts.london or by using the unsubscribe feature within an email communication.

In the case of Artist collaborations, the following may also apply: (b) We have a contractual obligation. (c) We have a legal obligation. (d) We have a vital interest. (e) We have a legitimate interest

How we store your personal information Your information is securely stored on our CRM provider platform, Hubspot.  For find out more about Hubspot data processing click
HERE  If your account is inactive for a period of three years or if you indicate that you would like your record removed; we will delete your data using the procedure within Hubspot.    

Your data protection rights Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.  

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.  

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.  

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.  

Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances. You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. Please contact us at
